Cell phones for welfare?

Ok so I'm just wondering why those on welfare need cell phones? To me this seems like an extra expense that they don't really need. Now there is a government program providing cell phones to elfare recipients. I have to say this one steps over the line. I do not nor will I ever believe that we need a welfare program in the HOWEVER if so lets make it fair and it's not. So many things about it piss me off I'm not even sure where to begin but to stay on task, Welfare recipients often times get discounts on other public programs including school lunches. So not only do they get around $100 per person in the house per month for food but then they get free school lunches and in some places breakfasts as well. So they are not paying the 30 cents to 1 a day for breakfast or 70 cents to 3 for lunch for the children more savings still as they get a break on heating and cooling costs. Often times paying little or nothing for utilities as well and IF they get child care assistance still more money they do not have to spend. So this is why this cell phone bothers me so much. I know that sometimes so people need help for a bit but EVEN after the welfare overhaul it is never for bit, it is a huge cycle of need and dependance. If I got $1000 of childcare paid for, no utilities to worry about plus $300 a month for food my life would be simpler as well. THats not including the housing vouchers or food banks these families learn to use. Sorry no sympathy for single moms either, In my work I have seen single mothers NOT get married to the father to simply stay on the system and at times been in homes nicer than mine while this family gets every little luxury welfare provides. I worked Two jobs and at times 3 to make sure I could provide for my kids and family, I also went to college and got a degree, I also have 2 health issues that I fight with daily, they will never go away and effect my health for the rest of my life; Do I sit on welfare and complain that I don't have a phone? Nope I work, I think everyone who can should and for those who can't that's the only time anything should help out. For the rest of us I think EVERYONE in america should get welfare, EVERYONE should get $300 a month for food, EVERYONE should get $200 a year for utilities, EVERYONE should get $800 a month towards housing, and lastly EVERYONE should get $50 a month towards a cell phone, wait I almost forgot free healthcare as well, THEN and only THEN should we talk about fair and equal anything, EVERYTHING should be far and equal EVERYTHING or nothing at all, get rid of the system, it didn't exist 100 years ago and people still survived, lets just go back to survival of the fittest. Just my opinion is all.
